Further information
Departing from the Vaulieu garden, your guide takes you along the edge of the island of Sallertaine, leaving it to enter the heart of the Marais. The surprising environment welcomes you: the gentle sound of reeds cradled by the wind, trees with their roots flooded and dried by the seasons, the gentleness and calm of a marsh shaped by Man as you pedal along the old dyke... Further on, low typical houses of the Vendée are a reminder of the last century. The little road back along the edge of the bocage offers an interesting view of the island, before returning quietly to the village.
