Embark on this electric bike tour from Paris to Versailles with your guide, who will be waiting for you, holding a bike helmet. They will help you collect your ebikes and explain how they work. If you know how to ride a bike, you’ll quickly get the hang of an e-bike: it simply helps you cover distances and climb hills with less effort.
Over the course of the day, you’ll ride 15 miles, mostly on bike paths, trails, and low-traffic roads—an ideal ebike tour route between Paris and Versailles.
You will then discover the incredible Saint-Cloud Park, once the site of a magnificent château that belonged to Louis XIV’s brother and later to Napoleon Bonaparte. It is very pleasant to explore by e-bike, and also quite safe, making it ideal for riding around with peace of mind. This vast green space offers remarkable panoramic views of Paris, along with stunning gardens and fountains.
Next, you’ll pass through the charming village of Marnes-la-Coquette, once home to famous french singers, before riding through the Fausses-Reposes Forest, a lovely haven of greenery that’s a delight to explore by electric bike.
You will then arrive at the famous Notre-Dame Market in Versailles, where you can purchase fresh products. Weather permitting, you will put together your picnic lunch in the grounds of the Palace of Versailles, enjoying an exceptional view of the château. In case of bad weather, you can have lunch in one of the many restaurants surrounding the market.
You will then visit the Petit Trianon and the Queen’s Hamlet, two places very dear to Marie Antoinette. The Petit Trianon was offered to the queen by Louis XVI in 1774: more intimate and less formal than the main château, it served as a retreat and escape for her. The Hamlet was essentially a small village built to recreate the rustic atmosphere she loved, featuring quaint cottages and a lake. You can stroll around these bucolic surroundings and gain deeper insight into 18th-century court life. During this visit, your guide will wait near the e-bikes.
After exploring the Petit Trianon, feel free to take your time discovering the interior of the Palace of Versailles, considered one of the finest achievements of French art in the 17th century. There, you can admire the sumptuous Hall of Mirrors and the royal apartments. The gardens, designed by André Le Nôtre, abound with pools, fountains, and sculptures. Let yourself be enchanted by the harmony of the grounds, and don’t hesitate to wander freely through the groves and pathways to fully appreciate this architectural and landscape masterpiece.
For this new 2025 itinerary, you will return to Paris by train rather than by electric bike, so you can rest after a busy day. Your guide will provide you with a train ticket and all the necessary information to get back to Paris with ease.
